Cleanup scheduled at Puako Boat Ramp

The public can participate in the land and water cleanup from 7:30-11:30 a.m. July 15. Guests will walk, talk and share Hawaiian history and culture on the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail.

The NOAA MDMAP citizen science program will also be introduced, using their accumulation survey and data collection forms on a new site. The South Kohala Coastal Partnership, Makai Watch and DLNR will share their marine resource conservation program, and the Alex and Duke De Rego Foundation will be on hand to answer questions about Ocean Safety. Attendees can meet Trail Rhythms Hawaii’s Eco Waterways founder and join their team.
